Union City is dedicated to protecting the environment. We encourage our residents and visitors to enjoy our parks and public areas in a responsible manner. Union City has ordinances in place to protect the environment so our community will remain clean and pollution free for future generations. Pollution ordinances control dumping of trash, littering in public areas, contamination of water supplies, and the dumping of pollutants into sanitary sewers.
In Indiana, report littering, dumping and other threats to the environment; contact the Union City Fire & Police Dispatch Center at 765-964-5353.
Additional environmental information for Indiana can be found at the Indiana Department of Environmental Management http://www.in.gov/idem/
In Ohio, contact the Darke County Solid Waste District located at 115 West Fourth Street in Greenville, Ohio. They can be contacted Monday through Friday at 937-547-7369. The Darke County Solid Waste District allows for the recycling of tires and electronic devices every other year. Call their office for details.
Let’s all work together to keep Union City green!
