Along with the Mayor and City Clerk-Treasurer, Union City government is made up of a City Council and four appointed Boards, which control the operations within the City.
Board of Public Works & Safety
The Boar of Public Works and Safety consists of the Mayor and two members appointed by the Mayor.
This Board oversees the day to day operations of the Street, Police, Fire, and Wastewater Departments.
The Board of Public Works and Safety meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month at 2:30 pm in the Community Room, 103 N. Columbia St.

Water Board
The Water Board oversees the operation of the city’s water utility. This three member board is appointed by City Council. The Water Board meets the 3rd Monday of every month at 4:00 pm at 216 Maple St.

Park Board
The Park Board supervises the operation of Harter Park, the swimming pool, and the South Side Ball Park. The Park Board has five members appointed by the City Council. The Park Board meets the 1st Tuesday of every month at Harter Park.

Cemetery Board
The Union City Cemetery Board oversees the operation and maintenance of the historic Union City Cemetery. The Board has four members who are appointed by the Mayor. The Cemetery Board meets the third Tuesday of every month at Harter Park.
