Along with the Mayor and City Clerk-Treasurer, Union City government is made up of a City Council and four appointed Boards, which control the operations within the City.
Board of Public Works & Safety
The Board of Public Works and Safety consists of the Mayor and two members appointed by the Mayor.
This Board oversees the day to day operations of the Street, Police, Fire, and Wastewater Departments.
The Board of Public Works and Safety meets on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at 8:30 am in the Community Room, 103 N. Columbia St.

Park & Cemetary Board
The Park & Cemetary Board supervises the operation of Harter Park, the swimming pool, and the South Side Ball Park, as well as Union City Cemetery. The Park & Cemetary Board have five members appointed by the City Council. The Board meets the 1st Tuesday of every month at 4:30 in the Community Room at 105 N. Columbia St.

The Redevelopment Commission
The Union City Redevelopment Commission developes and implements plans for the Economic Development of unused and under-used properties within the city.
The Commission meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:00 pm in the Community Room, 105 N. Columbia St.
