Capital Budget & Projects

Indiana

Union City Indiana uses the annual budgeting process to prepare for capital improvement projects.

Storm Sewer WorkersEvery year, the individual department Supervisors develop operating budgets for their departments. In those budgets, capital improvement line items are proposed. These items cover:

  • street paving
  • equipment replacement
  • infrastructure improvements

The City Council also appropriates funds for capital improvement projects, such as:

  • Sidewalk replacement
  • Redevelopment
  • building repair/replacement

Many times, capital improvements are planned for years in advance. These projects are included in an extended plan. Click the link below to view Union City Indiana's Strategic Plan.

Union City strives to provide quality capital improvement projects in the most cost effective manner. The community utilizes a five year plan to proactively prepare for upcoming public infrastructure projects such as:

      • The paving of a roadway
      • Planning for municipal equipment purchases and replacements such as the purchase of a dump truck
      • Preparing for property improvements such as the expansion of the Public Safety Building.

The capital improvements plan is updated every five years by resolution of the Village Council. The plan may be modified as necessary depending upon funding availability.
