Both Union City Indiana and the Village of Union City Ohio contract with Bestway of Indiana for garbage pickup. Bestway provides Union City customers with a 96 gallon waste receptacle, which allows for automated trash pickup. Customers need to bring the receptacle to the street curb no more than 24 hrs. prior to scheduled pickup and remove it from the street no more than 24 hrs. after scheduled pickup. Large/bulky item pick-up is available on the first Wednesday of every month. To schedule a pick-up, contact Bestway at 800-745-5714.
Schedules for trash pickup are:
Wednesday
Division St. and all streets south of Division St., pickup is every Wednesday. Boggs Ave., Washington St., Debolt Ave. and Caroline St. are also on Wednesday pickup.
Monday
All streets north of Division St. are scheduled for pickup every Monday.
Appliance pickup is available by contacting the Union City Street Department to schedule pickup. The exception is Freon containing appliances, such as refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners. These items must first have the Freon removed by a certified removal technician. Freon containing appliances without certification documents will not be accepted.
For information about Freon removal, call the Randolph County Solid Waste District at: 1-877-584-9816. You may also call the Solid Waste District to schedule drop off of hazardous household chemicals, paint, pesticides, and other chemicals.
Hazardous wastes are not just a problem for commercial industry. Our homes generate hazardous waste also in the form of cleaning solvents, paint, oil, and automotive products such as tires. The wastes must be disposed of in a safe and environmentally safe manner.
The Randolph County solid waste district has funded a center to collect these wastes.
“Pollution Solutions” is located on Indiana highway 32, 3 miles east of Winchester Indiana. Residents may call Pollution Solutions at 1-877-584-9816 to schedule a time to drop off hazardous chemicals and other waste.

All garbage for Union City Ohio is picked up on Friday mornings.
The cost for this service is ten dollars per month and is included on your quarterly water/waste water bill.
The Village also provides a large dumpster for disposal of non-hazardous waste and/or large items that need to be removed from the residents premise. For more information on this service call 937-968-4305, ext.0.
