Police Departments have the responsibility of controlling traffic in their jurisdictions. At times, drivers are written citations for violation of the traffic code. Traffic Court is where drivers have the opportunity to question if the citation they received was truly a violation of the law. Our government provides courts for this purpose.
If you do not believe you committed the violation stated on your citation, it is important you bring this to the attention of the court. Our court systems provide the checks and balances on our justice system.
Most traffic citations written in Union City Ohio are dealt with by the Union City Mayors Court.
Some second offences such as operating a vehicle while intoxicated, driving under a suspended license are handled by the Darke County Municipal Court system.
Refer to the Court System page of this web site for further information about Union City and Darke County courts.
