Victim's Rights & Assistance

Victims of crime often feel forgotten by the justice system after reporting the crime, sometimes with good reason. Like many things in life, one must pursue justice and appropriate compensation with determination.

The Randolph County Prosecutor has a Victim Advocate's Office which may be reached at 765-584-2644. The Victim's Advocate will assist crime victims in pursuing their case and filing of proper paperwork.

The State of Indiana also has a Victim's of Crime Compensation Fund. Under Indiana Statute, a fund for victim's of crime is established under the authority of the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute. The Institute's web site may be accessed at: www.in.gov/cji/   or by telephone at: (800) 353-1484.
