The City of Union City Indiana provides Animal Control Services through the Code Enforcement officer, Dennis Schweigert.
Code Enforcement also investigates reports of animal abuse and neglect.

The City operates a temporary animal shelter locally, with most animals being transported to the Randolph County Animal Shelter within two to three days at the most.
